It arrived, it is awesome, but now I am confronted with a dilemma: I love 80g-clickey switches, but this one has 45g-not-really-clickey but with an amazing feel to it. Should I now change the switches or not? I have enough of the 80g-ones and they are not being used atm, so, yeah, what now?

And regarding keycaps: I'm gonna keep the white ones for the time being, let's see

Also, this beast is really heavy. tau-ceti.space/@ics/1142125739…

Here is an enby who may or may not have ordered a new mechanical keyboard...

@simulo So, tested it and I'll be neither keeping the existing switches nor switching to my other, 80g ones. Instead, I am ordering completely different switches, to these: gloriousgaming.com/en-de/produ…

They had sample switches and I must admit, these Panda are a perfect mix between my 80g clickey and the in-built linear ("Fox" on their site).

But I also decided to replace the keycaps from white to "Daydream" ( gloriousgaming.com/en-de/produ… ) - I think I need some color on my desk if I'm going to replace my pink keyboard

@OmegaVixens The problem with these 45g is that they are a little too linear; even though it feels good, I miss something and when I tried out the Panda switches, I knew immediately what it was: not necessarily the clickey, but rather the small bump on the way down. Since I never look down unto the keyboard, the full tactile sense is extremely important for me. I did make some minor changes to the actuation using the software, but that wan't completely enough. It helps, but isn't really enough. So, I'll try with the Panda switches and then see if that is enough. I can always go the nxt steps and change them all to my MX 80g (the Fox and Panda are magnetic switches, the 80g I have is a Cherry-MX mechanical switch).

One of the reasons why I exclusively use neovim and terminal/shell for software development (never GUI-IDE) is that this way, I can keep my hands on the keyboard all the time. And the reason I have only 65% or 70% -keyboards is so that my hands don't have to travel at all. I lay them on the keyboard and they stay there with very minor movements. Even switching screens and spaces is all done with key-shortcuts.

I usually only use the mouse for browsing (gitlab-UI) during software development, not coding at all.

So, I got so angry because of : tau-ceti.space/@ics/1142560434…

that I decided to replace the switches because ... well I just had to get rid of the energy and since I had to type a lot of stuff, I realized that the "Fox" are good for gamers but really not so good for people like me, who write tons of text, especially program code.

FUCK YOU, you fucking fuckers!!!

Der Mann ist halt immer noch wichtiger als die Frau in diesem FUCKING FUCK-LAND!!! Und ja, es gibt nix anderes als "HERR" oder "FRAU".

Yep!! Fuck you!

@simulo These are the switches I use: caseking.de/glorious-gateron-g…

But, I think it is the combination of this keyboard (Aluminum w/ CNC) and the switches that gives this amazing feeling, including the sound
