This paper investigates how competition to publish first and thereby establish priority impacts the quality of scientific research. We begin by developing a model where scientists decide whether and how long to work on a given project. When deciding how long they should let their projects mature, scientists trade off the marginal benefit of higher quality research against the marginal risk of being preempted. Projects with the highest scientific potential are the most competitive because they induce the most entry. Therefore, the model predicts these projects are also the most rushed and lowest quality.

Got my new Thinkpad today and found out it starts some default Windows installer (I'll install Debian Linux anyway), so I thought, well let it run once and see what happens. So it tells me what great stuff I get if I add my Microsoft account – which would mean I'd automatically accept some service contract and the Microsoft privacy rules.
And declining is not possible. They say I can switch to a local account later, but at this point I already have accepted their contract.

Kann sich im Familienkreis lohnen, wenn man nicht ständig ein neues Passwort anlegen muss.

ich würde das eher schon als ersten, gezielten Angriff auf die Zivilgesellschaft sehen.
Als dann auch diese Seite aus Bayern vor die Seite der letzten Generation geschaltet wurde, wo auch Spender an die letzte Generation kriminalisiert wurden, ahnte ich damals, dass uns noch Schlimmeres bevorsteht.

So, basically, kill a bunch of people, then round up the survivors who live on the land you want, move them off their land and out of their homes and march them a thousand miles to some place you think isn't worth anything (because otherwise you'd want that TOO), and then you can develop their land into money making properties for your own people.
