Scholars of authoritarianism and fascism are blunt about our situation.
America is a fascist nation now. The window to use institutions normal Democratic institutions to stop. This is rapidly closing, and our primary challenge is now to organize against fascism.
Very particularly with the operations of ICE. There’s nothing about their operations that are legitimately constitutional. they must be physically prevented from doing what they are doing.
So it's great that some journalists and ex-journalists are now speaking out. But the failure of the media to call out fascism over the past few years is a fundamental part of how fascism has taken over. So...all those years of many normal people saying: why aren't they automaticlaly calling him a felon and a rapist? Why aren't they pointing out the hypocrisy in screaming, front page headlines? Etc.
So too little, too late I'd say. Damage is done and fascism is here with us.

Hey Fedi, was habt ihr denn für tolle #vegane Portemonnaies?
Ich suche dabei nichts minimalistisches, es darf aber schon gerne clevere Ideen haben. Mein Aktuelles habe ich ordentlich vollgepackt mit Bargeld, Münzgeld, diversen Karten (Kundenkarten, Kreditkarten, Stempelkarten, Perso, Organspendeausweis, …), Papier-Fahrkarten, Kondom.
Vermutlich zu minimalistisch für dich... aber selbstgemacht und low-budget:
Mein Portemonnaie ist ein breites Textil-Gummiband (mehrere cm breit), was einen Stapel Chipkarten und ein paar Geldscheine zusammenhält. An einer Seite ist das Gummiband doppel-lagig, und zwischen den Lagen ist Platz für Münzen.
Nachteil: Wenn zu viele Münzen drin sind, neigen sie zum Rausfallen. Als upgrade/für eine größere Version könnte man evtl. einen Reißverschluss an das Münzfach machen.

Ich fischte das dünne Wesen aus dem Wasser und zu meiner Überraschung bewegte es seine Fühler, war also noch nicht ganz alle. Es war eine kleine Hummel.
Ich hab sie in die hohlen Hände genommen und vorsichtig reingepustet.
Irgendwann fing sie an rumzukriechen und sich zu säubern.
Ich hab ihr etwas Honig gegeben und nach 15 Minuten tanken flog sie, noch nicht trocken, davon.

☝️ Also, one of the great things about posted audio, video and image files on Mastodon is that you can download them too, simply by clicking and holding on the preview image and selecting to save it to your device.

Just want to note that uploading M4A audio files to Mastodon servers does not currently work due to MIME subtype madness. (Which means I've needed to convert phone recordings files before uploading them.)

Hatte mein Vater das Problem, er dachte schon er macht was falsch. Nachdem ich es 5 mal versucht hatte, stand dann da, dass Serverwartung ist 🙃
Jedenfalls konnte mein Vater nix falsch gemacht haben. Geile war, es kam eine Fehlermeldung und sollst dich beim Bankberater melden. War so länger Buchstaben - Zahlencode. Ging ja auch kein Screenshot 🙃 bzw der Code war auch nicht kopierbar 😬
Das sieht schonmal sehr klasse aus.
(Und ist dummerweise schon wieder ein neuer, anderer Stil, für den ich jetzt ein weiteres neues Filmprojekt anfangen muß.)
