This did not change, Delta Chat works with any email account that supports IMAP and SMTP and chats with a mix of chatmail and other email accounts work as long as they are encrypted. Unencrypted chats did not work already because chatmail users cannot send unencrypted messages there.

What changed is that you cannot create a new chatmail address and use it to receive plaintext emails. OpenPGP emails will arrive, they don't have to be sent from Delta Chat.
