Nederlandse ambtenaren mogen voor hun werk geen gebruik maken van de nieuwe Chinese AI-app DeepSeek. Staatssecretaris Szabó van Digitalisering (PVV) heeft een verbod ingesteld omdat het gaat om "een spionagegevoelige app". DeepSeek is een AI-chatbot die je vragen kunt stellen en tekstopdrachten kunt geven. Daarvoor moet je eerst zelf informatie invoeren.

Der humanistische Pressedienst greift die moralpanische Berichterstattung zu trans Frauen in Gefängnissen auf. Die Artikel von Welt und Mimikama und die Kritik an deren teils offen transfeindlicher Sprache und Argumentation werden dabei leider nicht ausreichend eingeordnet.

Egänzt werden noch Erklärungen des Bundes der Strafvollzugsbediensteten sowie Bedenken des NRW-Justizministeriums und ein kritisches Statement von Julia Monro (LSVD+)

Ich erkenne da ein Bemühen um verschiedene Perspektiven, mir fehlt aber eine kritische Prüfung der Faktenlage und der deutlich transfeindlichen Töne.

Vor allem aber fehlt mir jegliche Einordnung in die aktuelle politische Lage - Stichwort Instrumentalisierung von Transfeindlichkeit durch rechte Akteur*innen. So tappt der hpd in die False-Balance-Falle. Enttäuschend.

This paper investigates how competition to publish first and thereby establish priority impacts the quality of scientific research. We begin by developing a model where scientists decide whether and how long to work on a given project. When deciding how long they should let their projects mature, scientists trade off the marginal benefit of higher quality research against the marginal risk of being preempted. Projects with the highest scientific potential are the most competitive because they induce the most entry. Therefore, the model predicts these projects are also the most rushed and lowest quality.
