In Leipzig, an "H2 Power Plant" just opened. More precisely, a gas turbine plant that's "H2 ready" (aka proper piping to contain H2 etc.) For that glorious future time when "The Ring" is ✅ to distribute H2, from a terminal unloading ships of green H2. Or, in the nearer future, when the pipeline to the new electrolysis plant is ✅, using green power from surrounding solar and wind parks to generate H2.

@edavies @snaeqe Hydrogen is barely storable, though! I mean, really, it takes heroic measures to keep it from simply diffusing through joints and even metal containers.
@cstross If you've got enough of it l³/l² is on your side.
I'm not sure it's a good idea but I don't think it's so obviously idiotic that you can immediately assume it's a scam.
However, if somebody's saying their boiler (of whatever scale) is “hydrogen ready” without providing the rest of the system (electrolyser, storage, pipelines, etc) then, yeah, it's probably a scam.
Remember: At peak-efficiency taxis literally only.stop and turn off engines to offload/onload passengers change drivers, refuel or do unavoidable maintenance.

You can't make this shit up.

#Batteries are shit and the #downtime due to #Charging is a huge cost factor.
