Weird isn’t it, that on current pictures the surrounding is mostly sand 🤔 We’re these pictures real or photoshopped at that time? Or did they cut all the trees?
This photos are from the outdoor tree museum The Morton Arboretum. I guess the photos you refer to are another copy (or moved) that he made on another location (fairly common on popular works). If you google "outdoor tree museum The Morton Arboretum" you can see lots of photos on this sculpture.
