What's interesting: none of my family members served at the military in WWII, apart from my mother who was forced into fatigue duty as a teenager.
I continued this tradition by refusing to serve. I was the last generation with compulsory military service. I had to actively refuse to serve.

I can’t tell you how many tens of thousands of dollars I have spent at this point. It’s not all surgery, either. Everyday life is just more expensive.
Prior to surgeries:
-clothing
- binders
- prosthetics (expensive!)
- hormones
- name change
- other document changes
Prepare for surgery:
I lost count of the thousands spent on hair removal (for phalloplasty)
This cost Is higher for trans fems who also remove facial hair and possibly other body hair.
Surgeries:
I have had seven surgeries over the last 5 years.
I lost track of the thousands spent.
I still have twoo more surgeries, if all goes well.
Total I have spent tens of thousands of dollars.
Just to be me.
(I am a trans man and this is what I spent money on.).
