Here's a neat class of product that I didn't know existed: "travel routers."
I bought a GL.iNet "Beryl AX" to serve as a wifi access point in my trailer. It runs OpenWRT (woo) and is set up to manage up to three upstream internet connections (wifi, ethernet, USB 4G dongle), multiplexing your devices using NAT and securing traffic with OpenVPN or Wireguard. Oh, and it runs off 5V USB.
This is useful for e.g. hotel or trailer park Wifi that has a "number of devices" cap, but in my case, I've got it set up to use my home wifi when it's in range, and fall back to 4G when it isn't. Either way, it bridges to my home network via Wireguard so I can get to my stuff.
Its little brother (Opal) starts at $35 but isn't as hackable.

Last week, a bit over 700 km east of Birmingham, the days with 32 ºC were the not so hot ones. Peak was 37. Absolutely dreadful.
When I was younger, I loved hot weather. Now, at over 60, not. Maybe I am made for the maritime climate in which I grew up, a bit further north, and between the Nord Sea and the Baltic. Days with, let alone over, 30 ºC were rare.

The story of a zombie apocalypse always went:
Step 1: first zombies emerge (night of the living dead, return of the living dead, Train to Busan, etc)
Step 2: ?
Step 3: protagonist wakes up or already finds themselves in the zombie apocalypse without discussing step 2 (Walking Dead, 28 days later, Land of the Dead, Zombieland, etc.)
It always gave me pause because it seemed like a jump from step 1 to step 3, but it was suspension of disbelief. But um…yeah, no, I can see it all playing out now after Covid

I'm currently watching a movie from 2010 about a gay strip and cabaret club in a spot in the 1980ties.
And apart from the optical sugar I may enjoy especially as a pan person, it also has a trans woman saving money to have surgery in Thailand and is cultural like endearing.
My favorite historical music and fashion era is the 1980ties, so seeing a gold haired twink strip (no genitals visible 
) to Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" is its own piece of art.
And the owner of the club lip syncing Klaus Nomi's incredible performance of the "Cold Song" from Purcell's "King Arthur" in his apartment is nearly making me cry.
