Also: Pretty much everybody who meets him remarks that he looks a bit fat. He's actually pretty much right in the middle of ideal healthy body weight for his species - they're naturally "robustly built". In this picture he's basking, so he flattens out his body to maximize the top surface area (which makes him look even fatter). Handling him, if he decides to move a bit, rather quickly reveals that he is a sausage made almost entirely out of muscle.
(He is *ridiculously* strong, and can push surprisingly heavy things around if he wants to. Reptiles tend to be deceptively strong for their size.)

Not enough raspberries for a whole pie, but combined with some blackberries from my daughter's garden it works.
My top crust design was a fail because the pie was slightly overstuffed and the sweet berry juice spilled out through the vent holes.
I think we will eat it anyway.
It has character which really means it isn't perfect.
