Erneut Berichte über Schüsse bei Hilfszentrum im Gazastreifen
Von der Hamas kontrollierte Einrichtungen werfen dem israelischen Militär erneut vor, in der Nähe eines Hilfszentrums auf Zivilisten gefeuert zu haben. Israel spricht von Schüssen auf einzelne Verdächtige, die sich ihnen genähert und Warnschüsse ignoriert hatten.
Herr Dobrindt meint also, dass seine Auffassung von Recht und Gesetz über der von Gerichten steht.

Die Inflationsrate im Euroraum ist im Mai überraschend stark gefallen und liegt mit 1,9 Prozent nun knapp unter der Zielmarke der Europäischen Zentralbank. Das macht den Weg frei für die nächste Zinssenkung.

I tried to repair my much-neglected vintage bicycle last week. The front brake was semi-broken, and the seat is angled painfully wrong.
The front brake chose this moment to break for good. It's probably good that it didn't happen while I was riding the bike.
And now I miss the possibility of riding my bike so badly. I'm starting to think about buying a decent bicycle for myself. It would only be the second new bike I own in my life (the first was one that my mom bought me when I was 13).
Even so … this bike is good for short rides around town. Its biggest advantage is that if I use even a marginally serious lock, it's probably very unattractive to thieves.
But it might be time to invest in a bicycle that is a better vehicle for longer distances and doesn't require constant repairs.

I find it amazing how people - after only reading a quote or a headline - feel like commenting on texts or talks which took weeks and sometimes months to prepare with a quick comment based on a 30 seconds impulse and expect that to be the starting point for a discussion.
I (literally) don't know what to say to these people except: Maybe consider that people have good reasons for what they say and "I disagree" is not a very well put argument.
When I was young (I consider that as "some time ago") a now partly forgotten word was more in common use, which was "Fachsimpeln" which translates roughly as simpling on expertise. You totally agreed just to discuss a topic on a non-expert-level and did not claim any deeper knowledge.
This somehow is nonexistant nowadays, and everybody is just trying to show off.
You can make a quick, reductionist comment even after you thought a lot longer than 30 seconds about a text or talk.
Gerald Knaus im stern-Podcast „5-Minuten-Talk“: „Alle Fälle, die vor Gericht kommen werden, wird die Bundesregierung verlieren bis hinauf zum Europäischen Gerichtshof. Die Frage ist nur, wie lange sie das noch durchziehen will“.

Scheuer wurde nie wirklich zur Rechenschaft gezogen, also so gesehen...
Abgesehen davon ist weltweit der regelrechte Hass auf Asylsuchende so groß geworden, dass es salonfähig geworden ist, so zu handeln.
Auch salongfähig ist es (durch Trump) geworden, Urteile und Gesetze zu missachten, sofern sie gegen die Regierung sind.
Und #Dobrindt ist ja ein Befürworter von Trumps "Regieren" per Dekret - am Parlament vorbei.

Ich hab eine Abzugshaube, aber benutze sie vielleicht einmal alle zwei Monate. Ich kann dieses Geräusch vom Gebläse nicht ertragen.
Das ist schon eine, die nicht weit von der Wand absteht (mit so einer schrägen Glasplatte als Front).
Was funktionieren würde ist eine Abzugshaube, bei der der Motor weit weg ist. Vielleicht irgendwo auf dem Dachboden (Außenwand geht nicht, weil die Herdinsel an einer Innenwand steht).

Female butterflies have a specialised organ for digesting spermatophores: the bursa copulatrix, which is located near the vagina.

I remember I was in progress to fix a monitor cable to use the SCART input, but never got to complete it. Maybe switch to build a VGA adapter in today's age is a better option.
But I wish I had the STE model, which could easily be upgraded to 4MB RAM and the 2.06 TOS.

"Power without the price!") and I used it for a lot of things, I wasn't the biggest fan of 68000 assembly (remember, I was 16 years old at the time I got my ST) and still preferred to get lost in 6502 assembly on the XL :) All those notebooks full of hand-written assembly are now gone, unfortunately.

Coming from primarily BASIC and a bit of Pascal, it was a mind beding experience - especially when interacting with the graphical desktop (all the "secret codes" to mysterious registers needed to make TOS pop up a window).
Still got the book somewhere in a box ....
Gee, I need a longer holiday with lots of bad weather so I have a real valid reason to be indoors .......
But at uni ... I got my first 486DX laptop where I installed Slackware .... and the journey into C started. The rest is history 😁

Als Antwort auf Jan Wildeboer 😷 • • •It’ll always remain a nice thing to know that the Amiga was initially developed at, for and by Atari (Jay Miner), ultimately ended up at Commodore after their boss (Jack Tramiel) moved to Atari and took the Commodore 64 developer Shiraz Shivji with him who then created the ST in record time with his team. So the Amiga kinda was the next Atari and the ST was the next Commodore. Telling that always drives both Atari and Commodore fanboys mad ;)

They were supposed to re-join Atari when they ran out of money, but when Commodore snatched them (mostly to piss off Tramiel iirc) they built the Atari ST, and launched it earlier than the Amiga.
Quite a mess of a story, though!
