auch ich hatte mich über die coronapandemie und den ukrainekrieg von der linken entfremdet, aber das habe ich überwunden.
da die entfremdung eh zu 80% aus sarah wagenknecht und ihre fans bestand, war das gar nicht mehr so viel arbeit.
einerseits habe ich heute mehr verständnis für die antiautoritären reflexe, die viele zu den querdenkern trieb. antiautoritäre reflexe sind grundsätzlich gut, auch wenn sie mangels wissen manchmal daneben gehen. wir brauchen diese reflexe gegen den faschismus.

Private trackers usually work by autogenerating torrent files with unique announce urls to be able to ensure torrent files aren't shared and to assign credit for uploads/downloads.
In addition to having generic RSS feeds by tag, we could also have people sign up for tags as a part of their account, as well as indicate how much space they have available, and then we could autogenerate a unique RSS feed per account that load balances torrents by priority.
This way, each torrent has some minimum number of seeders instead of needing to sign up for a potentially unbounded amount of downloads in a tag feed or needing to manually distribute over a collection of torrents.
We would either need a very large number of seeders for this to work in the aggregate, or else make priority a real-valued number based on voting, but even partially, being able to subscribe to a feed that is sensitive to seed coverage and preferences is not something i have ever seen done in bittorrent.

(Nigh-everything the current US admin is doing makes complete sense when you recognize that it's a further desperate, panicky effort to prevent reality from affecting fossil carbon extraction cash flow, which is what it's all been since 1980.
Reality has just been clearing its throat so far; there will be shouting soon.)

Sadly Felon's reaction to competition is to rely on his new control of US politics to entrench Tesla in the US market - but he's losing out big time in Europe and China.
His tanking the bipartisan budget continuing resolution last year? The one that finally passed did not have the limitation on IP transfer to China, which he needs if he wants to enable FSD in his cars sold there. And I'm not even sure FSD is that great compared to some of the Chinese competition that have trained it on Chinese roads for a few years.

If the cars are made by slave labour and that's why they are cheap, then that is a reason for tariffs.

its not even plot or conspiracy. Tesla are expensive, and not very good cars.
BYD make EV superminis, and have in previous years put a lot of effort into reaching markets in Malaysia and Singapore, where not everyone can afford or wants an SUV or large saloon. As former UK colonies, they drive on the left.
So its just logical to sell the right hand drive cars over here, especially with Euro manufacturers being slow to market their own superminis.

the EU manufacturers also have a lot of trade and factories in China anyway (you can already buy a "European" car with many Chinese parts, so they aren't /that/ bothered about labour conditions).
I think the real issue is companies like VW have a commercial interest in keeping the production lines of petrol superminis going for as long as possible, they don't want to cannibalise the market for the Polo by introducing the ID2 too early >>

This happened before in the early 1970s—Detroit big iron suddenly got expensive to drive after the oil crunch, while containerized shipping allowed Japanese compact cars to eat the US market.
Of course, nobody now working in the auto industry was an adult in 1974—they've all retired. So institutional memory fades …

I remember seeing a huge roll-on/roll-off ship with DATSUN painted on the sides in a harbour nearby in around 1980, with hundreds of cheap little cars parked near the dock. I would guess it was about ten storeys tall. No containerised shipping in that case, then—these would not have been not assembled in Europe?
