In terms of writing, what are you most thankful for?

When I wanted to write my first stories on a PC as a teenager, my father made me take a 10-finger-typing class first. Thus, I learned typing properly and with years of training, I can now type faster than write by hand (no kidding). And I do not like writing by hand much anyway. I am still grateful to my father to make me take that typing class. I can very much recommend that.

Dass eins überhaupt mit Bier in den Zug darf find ich ein Unding. 😤

That it's still, after all this time, a huge chunk of my life. I owe this to computers, tbh, because I hate writing by hand.
So, yay computers!

I began to wonder why it never occurred to me that I could be a woman’s wife. The obvious answer is that same-sex marriages weren’t legal when I had these fears. But if I look deeper, I realize I didn’t believe that I could be a lesbian.

I have a lot of respect for @mliebreich, but here he painfully misses the mark.

The EPR UK is a different design compared to the standard EPR, with 7000 changes to the design, 35% more steel and 25% more concrete. All, completely unnecessary, but required by British regulations.

As ecomodernists we've been saying for years to not change the design! So, for all intents and purposes, Sizewell C will be N=3 and N=4, not 7 and 8.

Do we see learning effects? Yes actually! Hinkley Point C 2 is already 25% cheaper compared to HPC1. It does remain an open question how much of these savings can be transferred to a new site though.
