Watched a youtube video about the making of The Electric State, and they mentioned that Alan Silvestri did the score, which surprised me because I couldn't remember any of the music.

Listened to the soundtrack today and... yeah... that because it is completely forgettable. It's undoubtedly Alan, but completely unremarkable. Not even a central theme.

I do stand by this point but a lot of people have misinterpreted it, so I want to clarify. When I say genAI "doesn't work", I do not mean that these products cannot generate images, produce running code, emit what appears to be coherent language. Like, obviously, everyone can just watch it do that stuff. What I mean is that it does not appear to do any of those things to a level of quality that meaningfully improves productivity. It does not have positive ROI.

Today I had my first "real" meeting with my new therapist. She asked "What has been on your mind that you want to talk about?"

The entire conversation was about how that is not a question I can answer because my immediately thought is to figure out what it is I SHOULD talk about, what she WANTS ME to talk about, where she is and where I need to be in relation to her so this works.

She was surprised by this and asked why I felt that.

So then I explained Transness. How my entire life has been spent sussing out what the other person needs me to be/present/say in order for me to be safe.

The whole hour was spent explaining what it's like to be Trans, to be autistic, to be Black but look ambiguously ethnic. In other words, to be an other who is trying to survive. The whole hour was that.

So now I don't feel like I had therapy as much as feel like I've taught someone else. Which sucks.

Those funny little wojaks aren't neutral, folks. "Based" isn't just a funny word and "sigma male" didn't originate in a vacuum.

Greentext isn't just for posting on Twitter, it has an origin and a history and you should learn it. And for that matter, "degenerate" isn't a word to throw around for shits and giggles, and those "chad" memes, why do you think the guy's blonde and blue-eyed?

It's not even that they argue that it's divorced from its origins and therefore fine – the kids these days (and these were otherwise perfectly nice and cool people!) straight up don't know that the ✨ funky ✨ lingo they're using comes from the mouths of nazis.
