People are never going to be happy about the song contest being subject to choices that are most ethical/profitable for a news wire.
Bit if I were at Eurovision, I would also absolutely refuse to part with the contest. Even if it didn't make money, the soft power and the access would be too valuable to give up without it being mandated.

When I was first transitioning, I wanted to be a head-turner. You know? Just beautiful and delicate. Someone people could love.
(And I still do.)
But my not yet boyfriend recognized I had a lot of unprocessed anger at the way I'd been treated by my family and society.
My first TTRPG character, my namesake, Gwynnion, was -- if not virtue incarnate then at least a soft touch, someone who was willing to sacrifice herself to do the right thing.
But he suggested I dig deeper.
Anyway, if you've followed me for any length of time, you can probably tell that's the big dividing line in my personality. I don't feel compelled to swallow my anger, especially at injustice.
And unfortunately, it sometimes feels like that's the only side of me I really show online because things are always terrible. But it's honest?

Playing a football match in Karts in SuperTuxKart!
Super Tux Kart is a great Free Software racing game, but did you know it includes extra gameplay modes?
One of them is the "Soccer mode" where you team up 4 a side and have to push a giant football into the opposing team's goal - resembling much a Top Gear episode or something. As the game's controls and physics are essentially tuned up for racing, this is a lot harder to do than it sounds, but it's quite fun!
Here's some footage of it, and highly encourage you to try it as well yourself. Just remember to pick up a lightweight and maneuverable character to do it like Pepper or Wilber, otherwise it'll be painful.
(Too bad that my FPS rate goes reaaaally bad when I'm recording it :()

Ok so, yesterday I was laid off from the company I worked for.
Since I now have fixed expenses, going without income is not an option, so I will proceed to request help from the community here.
I'm looking for a job. It could be in almost anything, even things I don't know, since I can learn quickly. Still, I'd prefer it to be on the front-end development side (mobile, web, desktop, whatever) since that's where I'm most comfortable.
My current knowledge is:
- Flutter: Dart, Freezed, BLoC, etc
- React: Web, Native, Zustand, JS/TS, etc
- GTK: Libadwaita, Soup, Peas, C, Vala, JS/TS, Rust

It is for this reason that I do not support the song contest boycott. The song contest is a few annual events, but the Eurovision Newswire reports news every day of the year. The soft power of the song contest increases their ability to report and it would seriously impede their ability to gather news in any country they ejected from the contest.
Countries in the midst of mass killings need more international scrutiny, not less.
