I think "mute instance" is just another name for block instance.
Users can't block an instance totally, a user's instance blocking is sort of midway between a mute and a block.
That's part of the reason why it's important that admins do instance-level blocks of bad instances, as they really can fully block them.

Das Klingeln war ca. 1 Mikrosekunde lang.
Offenbar bekam er die Haustür danach nicht auf. Aber ich renne eh immer aus dem dritten Stock entgegen, weil ich zum einen nett bin und zum anderen nicht will, dass er den Kram irgendwo ins Treppenhaus wirft. So konnte ich ihm noch die Tür öffnen.
Die Story ist von H.P. Lovecraft, also ein Klassiker. Sicherlich schwer zu verfilmen, ich finde ihn wirklich gelungen. Der Soundtrack hat mir auch gefallen, ist mit in der Box, aber der stand auch schon bei mir im Regal...
Besonders gewaltlastig ist der Film übrigens nicht, er ist FSK16! Für das FSK18 ist offenbar einer der drei Bonusfilme verantwortlich.
