Ich mein es gibt ja eh mehrere Korrekturrunden. Wenn es bei der ersten nicht kommt, dann bei der zweiten.
Sich im Moment des Schreibens unter Druck zu setzen und das richtige Wort suchen zu wollen, führt hingegen eher zu keinem Ergebnis.
Übrigens ich hab auch öfter Wortfindungsstörung. Das ist nur peinlich, wenn es einfache Worte sind wie Gabel oder Postbote..
Ich sehe den Thessaurus als Hilfsmittel.

Manchmal. Wenn ich mir spezifische Begriffe oder so ausdenke. Also, wenn ich denke, hm, dieses Dings soll irgendwas wie "tolle Kraft" heißen, nur poetischer, dann gucke ich schon mal nach Synonymen. Meistens finde ich da nichts, aber es hilft, Gedankenprozesse in Gang zu setzen. Und manchmal steht da auch ein sehr passendes Wort, das mich glücklich macht.

Individuals with ASD who are more adept at hiding externally visible behaviors (due to social pressure to conform) will often have developed mechanisms for presenting more neurotypically, but their experience of it doesn't change. For example, I can shake someone's hand, look them in the eyes, and make some small-talk at a conference, but I'm dying inside the whole time—it's so uncomfortable. I don't like strangers touching me. I don't like touching people I don't have a close relationship to. But a lifetime of having to "pass" for interviews, events, etc. has made me "able" to (perhaps convincingly).
@silhelm Same for me. I got the ADHD diagnosis and asked "how could I just go through school and university without any setbacks?"
And my ADHD specialist said: "Something else the test showed is that you are quite intelligent, above average. So you didn't 'just' do it, you could compensate, but it came at a price."
The test by the way was more than 3h with a lot of different tasks around focus, memory and story telling. They don't actually test "intelligence", because IQ tests are not real. But the test gives hints about mental flexibility.
I also learned how to be professionally social through masking for my whole career, though I was unaware I'm autistic until I turned 50. I've read that that kind of masking often comes with a psychological cost, something I think all of us autistic maskers know from experience. Pretty sure decades of that is a big part of why I'm burnt out.

I love to read, but I'm slower than most people.
It's not that I have problems 'decoding' words or something. My brain has several concurrent trains of thought at the same time. And only one of them is about the text I'm reading.
So I'm in some weird hyper processing mode when I read. Which means that I often lose track of the content I'm currently reading, have to go back a sentence, a paragraph or even several pages and start over again.

Damn, meines ist auch betroffen. Ich habe das Handy im September seit drei Jahren. Ich habe einen Monitor laufen. Deswegen weiß ich, dass mein Akku von den ursprünglichen 4410mAh noch 4000 hatte. Also über drei Jahre 10% Verlust. Finde ich OK.
