It never occurred to me to go back. I would like Signal Desktop to let me have one window per chat like a sane chat app from 1998 rather than the stupid let's-pretend-we're-a-tablet-OS-with-no-windows Electron model.
Control-shift-c is a terrible idea on Windows because:
- In Teams, it's call.
- In the Terminal, it's copy.
Adding a third thing it does will cause even more confusion.
Boosts of this poll are really helpful, because I've previously asked Signal to make Esc the key for closing chats, and they closed my feature request as a duplicate of the "custom keyboard commands" feature request, which is obviously not really the same thing.

It's hard to imagine why the Signal developers are so against this idea that they are closing all suggestions of it, but I hope that with enough people requesting it they will add the feature, or at least allow it to be open as its own unique feature request.
Customizable Keyboard Shortcuts
I too sent a request for Esc to close chats/groups and return to home screen on Signal for desktop, and had that issue closed as a duplicate of this issue. I’ve started a poll on Mastodon, to see what percentage of people want Esc vs.Signal Community
Aside from this, the one feature I want on Signal that we don't have and that everything else has is POLLS.
