Habe ich euch eigentlich schon mal erzählt, was genau den Prozess anstieß, der dazu führte, dass ich mir meiner Neurodivergenz bewusst wurde? Nein? Okay, ich erzähle es euch.
Ich bin 2008 in einem echt üblen Burnout gelandet. Um da wieder herauszukommen, ging ich im Spätfrühling / Frühsommer 2009 die Reha. Das war eine echt schöne Anlage in Bad Kissingen, die nichts Medizinisches ausstrahlte. Dort wurde irgendwann ein Tag des Schweigens eingelegt. Vom Beginn des Tages bis Abends um 21:00 Uhr sollte geschwiegen werden. Es gab therapeutische Angebote, aber halt schweigend. Untereinander konnte man tun und lassen, was man wollte, aber halt schweigend. Ich freute mich sehr darauf, fand das spannend. Aber viele andere Mitpatient*innen hatte richtig, richtig Schiss vor diesem Tag.

Es war wie ein tiefes Luftholen nach einem langen Tauchgang ohne Sauerstoffgerät. Ich war energievoll, gut gelaunt, sehr kommunikativ (halt ohne Worte) und spürte eine tiefe Verbindung zu den anderen Menschen wie kaum jemals zuvor. Ich war witzig, ich war präsent. So kannte ich mich gar nicht! Am liebsten hätte ich gehabt, dass nie wieder zur verbalen Kommunikation zurückgekehrt wird!
Während ich völlig in Glückseligkeit aufging, ging es anderen Leuten tatsächlich echt schlecht. Weil sie nicht verbal kommunizieren konnten.

Diese Erfahrung ging mir lange nach. Jetzt wusste ich, dass ich nicht mehr "normal bekloppt" oder auf irgendeine Weise neurotisch bin, sondern dass ich sehr viel anders als ein gedachtes normal bin. Mir war klar geworden, dass ich mit zu vielen Reizen nicht klarkomme. Aber ich konnte es noch nicht benennen. Erst drei Jahre später hatte ich den Selbstverdacht auf ADHS und bekam die Diagnose. Zusätzlich mit dem ärztlichen Verdacht auf Autismus...

Wer kann, nehme sich bitte die Zeit ein paar Politiker bei SPD und CDU die sich mit #Energie beschäftigen anzuschreiben und deutlich zu machen, dass der Ausbau der #Windkraft vor allem im Süden Deutschlands sehr wichtig ist und dass hier Bürgerenergie noch mehr gefördert werden muss als bisher!

like, is it a name you'd always loved? is it a twist on your deadname? does it "just speak to you?" was it referenced in Mambo No. 5? did you choose it or did someone you love help?
I kept the first part of my name and for the second part I "just went through list of names".
Looked what sounded right, if I liked the meaning and didn't have some associations that didn't feel like "me". (There were some beautiful names, that I associated too much with other people to feel that it could be mine)
And then I tested it, and it more or less immediately got stuck.
I once thought if I wanted a more "neutral" name, but somehow the "best of both worlds" feels more right for me.
I have been a subscriber and avid reader of The Economist for about 25 years... until today - today, I have cancelled my subscription effective immediately and requested my account all related data to be deleted asap.
The reason?
Two consecutive articles about subjects related to trans people both of which were either not well-researched (stupidity) or written that way on purpose (malice). Regardless of whether it was stupidity or malice, doing it twice proves to me that The Economist either lost its liberal stance or standards of quality - both of which is reason enough to stop paying them any money.
I have now a subscription to The Atlantic Premium.

I'd personally also accept a very high efficacy sterilizing vaccine with wide uptake, though I'd probably still mask in crowded conditions, while traveling, etc. But I'd feel like it was reasonable to resume some voluntary/ discretionary lifestyle risks were there a much lower chance of losing 70-95% of my present function.

Interception of fax required more sophisticated means than listening to a wiretapped phone call.
